- She was the subject of an online hoax in June 2016, a Facebook user posted a photo of Weaving on the set of Ash vs Evil Dead (2015 – ) in make-up that made her look bruised and bloody (without identifying that the woman in the image was Weaving or any actress) and claimed that she was a Donald Trump supporter who had been violently attacked by opponents. The photo was shared in that context thirty-thousand times. Her co-star Bruce Campbell spoke against the false claims surrounding the picture and Weaving later expressed her annoyance at the situation.
